The other day, I was seriously hard at work. And by that, I mean I was working, it was hard, and I was being very serious about it. Naturally, being in that state of mind, I didn’t accomplish very much and I ended the day feeling somewhat grumpy. Then I remembered this quote:
“A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It’s jolted by every pebble on the road.” – Henry Ward Beecher
I figured that that’s darn right! So here’s a few more wise words about the importance of humor. I hope they make you smile! (Seriously.)
“Common sense and a sense of humor are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humor is just common sense, dancing.” – William James
“Don’t wish me happiness – I don’t expect to be happy. It’s gotten beyond that, somehow. Wish me courage and strength and a sense of humor – I will need them all.” – Anne Morrow Lindbergh
“There is hope for the future because God has a sense of humor and we are funny to God.” – Bill Cosby
“A sense of humor is a major defense against minor troubles.” – Mignon McLaughlin
“If you could choose one characteristic that would get you through life, choose a sense of humor.” – Jennifer Jones
Do you have any wise words on the subject of humor? What makes you smile when you’re feeling down?
I love the way you put words together!
Thank you!
