Love stories about old houses and family secrets.

Not sure if this has been evident to most people, but I have been in a rut for quite awhile. Personally and professionally, I’ve been rolling a little ways forward only to roll right back again. It’s become apparent that in order to get out of my rut and get back on the road, I am going to have to take some big steps – maybe too big for comfort.

The idea of these big steps has been on my mind a lot, to the point that on a recent morning when I woke up, my first thought was: “I’m not ready.” Then I went on to Facebook, and the following quote popped up. Okay, Universe, message received. There’s no such thing as ready, there’s only now. Let’s see what happens from here! (And if you want to share any good thoughts, experiences or advice on self-rut-ejection, I would be more than happy to read them!)

The above quote is from this interview with the wonderful Hugh Laurie. I snagged the graphic from the Writing About Writing page on Facebook.

  1. This has a lot of truth to it. I think you make yourself ready by deciding on what is the best path for you, and then carrying through despite all the “voices” that give you reasons you shouldn’t. I have found that to be true for me. You go girl!! You can do it!!
