Love stories about old houses and family secrets.

Now that we are over two-thirds of the way through 2019 (and, wow, how did that happen??), I thought we could talk about the Goodreads 2019 Reading Challenge.

Goodreads is a social media site for book lovers. If you’ve never visited, I highly recommend it. It’s a seriously fun and addictive place for readers to hang out. (I love serious fun, don’t you?) I only visit every few weeks because I can’t seem to spend less than an hour on the site each time I go there!

Every year they do a reading challenge, in which you set a reading goal for the year and then see how many books you can read. You also get to play with your friends, see how much they read, comment on each others goals, etc. Again: serious fun!

Currently I’m behind my goal by twenty-two books, which is embarrassing but just means that I have to devote more time to reading (darn it all!) (tee-hee).  Gives me a wonderful excuse to curl up and read for at least an hour a day (or ten hours a day, whatever!).  Above you can see some of the books I’ve read so far in 2019. All of them have been extraordinary in their own way.  If you want to see all the books I’ve read this year, you can click here.

Are you doing the Goodreads Reading Challenge? Let us know what you’re reading and how you like it. I’d love to hear from you!

  1. Hi Misha, always glad to read your posts. Goodreads, yes. But I am afraid to set goals to read and then have to acknowledge I don’t meet them (fully). Don’t you wish you could stop the clock in a day so that you would have more time to do what you are aiming for? And stop the sun from going down faster as of mid-June? Writing, home administration shores of the day, and all, it takes so much time. I read Kindle in the evening, mostly thrillers by Vynn Flynch and ee Child at the moment, but soon I will change to other books to prepare for my next novel. And I am also working on a Memoir. Where goes the time? Cheers, John

Wish I could stop the clock and just read? Oh yes, that would be wonderful. 😊 It seems like writers have much less time to read than we should! I like thrillers too. Enjoy the reading when you have time, my friend! And good luck with all your writing projects. 😊

You’re like me by the looks if it want to complete to many to read books in a short space of a year to complete a book challenge

I’ll probably fail again this year aswell 😆

    Good luck with yours

Yes the challenge part of it is fun! Gets us all revved up to read. I hardly ever make my target either but it’s fun to try! Good luck to you too and thanks for stopping by! 😊

  3. Doing it and loving the fun of doing it

That’s great! I need to get back on Goodreads; it’s been way to long since I’ve gone on there. Thanks so much for your comment! 💗
