Happy Friday morning, book friends! Today we have a big old house with a mystery (my favorite!), a box set of sweet Western romance, and a tale of scandal and intuition in the 1950s. I hope you find something here that you love! ❤️

The Harbor House by Mia Kent

When Robyn takes a part-time job as the companion to an elderly woman who lives in a beautiful harbor house on a small island off the coast, she’s expecting a few months of solitude and a chance to reset…until a walk on the beach uncovers a message in a bottle and a decades-long mystery that Robyn feels compelled to solve..

Mystery set in an old house? Yes, please! I got my copy, and you can find it here.

Sweet Western Romance in West Hope, South Dakota by Willow White

This bundle includes the first novel from three different series. Each novel is a standalone Christian cowboy romance with a happy ending guaranteed!

As a lover of happily-ever-afters (and bargains), this set was an instant yes for me! If you feel the same, you can find it here.

white baseball ball on brown leather baseball mitt

Hello and welcome to Writer Wednesday! Today we’re talking to author E.A. Coe about his book Full Count. Let’s find out about his baseball novel which isn’t entirely about baseball. Put us in, coach, we’re ready to play!

Welcome and thanks for joining us! Tell us about your book.

Shane Reynolds, an Indiana high school baseball star, chooses to attend tiny, Division III Lefton College. On his first day at the school, he meets Charlie Hamilton, the catcher for the college’s team, a senior. Together, the two ballplayers experience a charmed season that leads their team, The Monarchs, to a berth in the NCAA Division III National Championship. Along the way, the boys and their respective families discover that neither the game, nor life, is always predictable. Perceptive readers will recognize early in the novel that the story is not entirely about baseball.

That sounds really good! Where can readers find it?

They can find the Kindle version on Amazon here, and I’m offering a free audio version (like Audible) to anyone who wants it. Just email me at eacoeva@gmail.com.

How did you get started writing?

I returned to a lifelong infatuation with writing after retiring in 2019.

What’s your favorite part of being a writer?

The ability (as a writer of fiction) to write life the way that I’d like it to be rather than the way it is (sometimes).

What is a typical writing day like for you?

I have no “typical” day. I don’t sit at the computer at a particular time in the day, waiting to be inspired; when something inspires me, I run to the computer to write … for minutes, or sometimes hours.

If you could spend a day with anyone from history, dead or alive, who would it be, and what would you do? What would you ask them?

Mark Twain. I’d buy him a case of his favorite beer, then just sit and listen.

What’s next for you, as a writer?

My novel Survive the Day will release this spring. FBI Special Agents Marina Butnari and Douglas Hill, assigned to the task force charged with stemming human trafficking, engage in a desperate battle with the organization dominating the illegal trade. As the agents wind their way through the deceptions created by the mysterious genius who directs the well-organized syndicate, they’re hampered by compartmentalized intelligence within their enforcement group. Not all is as it seems—on their side of the law… or the other. Random events and unrelated clues connect, leading to an inevitable showdown.

More about the author:

E. A. Coe … is F. Coe Sherrard, a former United States Navy pilot and career businessman, who is retired and lives in Edinburg, Virginia. A graduate of Western Maryland College (now called McDaniel College), Coe was a senior executive in two entertainment companies, including Spirit Cruises and Herschend Family Entertainment (manager of the Dollywood Theme Park). He and his wife are the former owners of the Woodstock Café & Shoppes. Married to Jean since 1971, Coe has three children and seven grandchildren.

You can find him at his website, www.eacoe.online, on Instagram and Facebook. Email him at eacoeva@gmail.com.

♡♡♡

Thank you for joining us on this literary journey with E.A. Coe and Full Count. Whether you’re a baseball fan or simply love a great story, this novel promises an unforgettable journey that transcends the game. Don’t forget to say hi to Coe on his social media, or send him an email at eacoeva@gmail.com and grab your free audiobook!

Now, I’d love to hear from you: Are you a fan of baseball? What’s your favorite book or movie about sports? Let us know in the comments, and we’ll see you on the next Writer Wednesday!
