SunriseMy New Year’s Wishes for You:

Love. This is at the top of the list, because when you get right down to it, there are few (if any) things which are more important than love. It quenches our thirst, feeds our hunger and gives us strength. So whether it’s romantic, familial, friendship-based, or shared with a furry friend, I hope your 2014 is filled with love.

Laughter. There are few sounds more beautiful than happy laughter. In fact, laughter just might be the only contagious substance that has the power to heal both body and soul. May every day of this coming year include many hearty chuckles.

Comfort. In our constant rush to do everything for everybody, we often overlook our own need for little luxuries that provide us with cheer, relaxation and peace. Whether your idea of comfort consists of a five-star hotel, a cozy meal with the family, or simply a hot cup of tea, I hope that you find comfort whenever and where ever you need it.

Beauty. What do you find pleasing to your eye, ear, sense of taste or touch? What fills your mind with a deep sense of satisfaction or enriches your soul? The most wonderful thing about beauty is that we all see it, hear it, sense it differently, making it a truly unique and personal thing. This year, I hope you see many beautiful works of art, listen to much lovely music, climb mountains (or skyscrapers) and drink in the exquisiteness of all you see.

Achievement. Gabriel Garcia Marquez said that people don’t stop pursuing dreams because they get old, they get old because they stop pursuing dreams. May you achieve every dream you pursue in 2014 and all the years to come.

The first day of a new year is like a newly-minted penny in the hand of a child: bright and shining, full of mystical potential for treats and wonders. I hope that your penny pays off in every way you could ever desire.
