I recently finished reading Paulette Jiles’s moving novel News of the World. It is a quietly-told story which nevertheless speaks loudly about the value of kindness, decency, and laughter. As the world begins to bloom anew and we begin to gather again (whether in person or online), this quote rings especially true.
