I do everything at the last minute. Even this blog post is being written mere moments before I will send it out. (Yikes! Excuse the typos!) If you, like me, need a last-minute way to celebrate Bookentine’s Day, here are some ideas:
1. Read. This one seems obvious, but with life as busy as it is, sometimes it can be hard to make time for our beloved books. So, even if it’s just for five minutes, gift yourself some time to read.
2. Buy a bookmark. In yesterday’s post, I shared several bookmarks that I found on Amazon. Several of them are five dollars or less. A fun and inexpensive way to “mark” the day!
3. Grab a writer-themed cup of coffee or tea. Here is an adorable blog post of “beverages for bestsellers.” I think I’ll order a “Murder on the Orient espresso.”
4. Stop at the used bookstore after work. Dash in, grab a book from the bargain rack, and dash out again. Book-loving mission accomplished! Here is a list of some of the best used book stores in the U.S.
5. Join a reading group on Facebook. The book of faces is full of reading communities where you can find new book friends. I manage three of them, myself: The Kinsey Club (Reading Sue Grafton, again and again), Books and Optimism, and Misha’s Reading Room. Stop on by, we’d love to have you!
How will you celebrate Bookentine’s Day? It’s our day, let’s make the most of it!
♡♡♡
