Love stories about old houses and family secrets.

Wow, wow, wow, where has the year gone? Here we are, halfway through October already; feels like summer barely paid us a visit before it dashed off again. (Or is that just me?)

With less than two weeks until Halloween, I want to fully immerse myself in All Hallows Spirit. Which, for me, means candy corn, pumpkin spice everything, and as many ghost stories as I can stand.

To kick things off right, here is a wee taste of one of the all-time great ghost stories: Disney’s 1949 classic animated version of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Loved it when I was a child, and I love it still! Hope you enjoy it!

What’s your favorite thing about this time of year?

  1. Love the Disney animated Headless Horseman (got it on dvd) and the song. I’m pretty sure I had a record of the song when I was a wee lad. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh wow, I remember that record! Sigh, what a classic. I love the Headless Horseman song and also the one about Ichabod: “Who’s that coming down the street? Are they shovels, or are they feet?” ๐Ÿ™‚ Perfect combination of funny and scary that still holds up after all these years! ๐Ÿ™‚
