Do you remember your favorite book from childhood?

It’s hard to say for certain what my absolute favorite book was from childhood, but the one that stands out the most is Pete’s Dragon, by Jean Bethell. It’s about an orphan named Pete, his dragon Elliot, and their adventures in the fictional Maine town of Passamaquoddy. I remember this book dearly because it was the first novel I ever read. It also introduced me to the idea of being a lighthouse keeper, which is still one of my dream jobs. And it instilled in me the knowledge that you should always believe in magic, even if other people can’t see it.

What about you? Do you remember your favorite book from childhood?
